Avengers: Endgame was the awesome culmination of over 20 motion pictures released across more than a decade, earning well over two billion bucks at the international box office. So why would Disney re-release the motion picture less than two months after its debut? Here are several reasons.
One giant reason why Endgame is getting another push in theatres does not have anything to do with the Avengers at all. It is another megahit that still holds the top spot at the international box office.
In 2009, James Cameron’s Avatar brought in more than $2.7 billion, effortlessly asserting the record box office crown with its 3-D, sci-fi spectacle. It is held on to the record for a whole decade, but that epoch might well be about to meet its end.
The Avengers made a major splash with a record-setting opening, with Endgame becoming the quickest film to ever surpass $2 billion. It eclipsed the whole box office gains of its predecessor, Infinity War, in just 11 days. But the new motion picture soon got started getting pushed out of theatres by a barrage of summer blockbusters, leaving it around $43 million bashful of the record record after two months in theatres.
In hyping up a new release of the motion picture, it is clear that Marvel is in it to win it, and this rip-off may well be just the thing to push the MCU over James Cameron’s unearthly odyssey.
