This MR2 is full of (filthy) surprises

Last episode Marty was working on the MR2 which turns out to be not exactly as neat as he first thought. Most every bolt was seized or rusted, and while the body itself is in reasonable condition more or less everything connected to it does not work. This episode the fuel tank tank needs to be removed and new coolant hoses installed throughout the vehicle. The MR2 leisurely but surely being returned to it is prior glory but there is still quite a bit of work left to do.

In addition something to note around Mighty Car Mods: we are normal guys and are not trained mechanics. We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we’ve gone about it, but we can’t promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won’t harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you’re doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you’ve seen us make it look so easy. Talk to a qualified mechanic if you are in any doubt.

  2. spookydoughballs

cant tell if it was martys face or the comedic relief that was the tank falling out that made me laugh but fuckoaf i did

  3. I’ve always wanted & still want a project mr2, love the mid engine concept and always will 🙌🏼

  4. brother ya got the patience of a Greek god

  5. Fella a little lube in ya hoses will help to slide em on easy

  6. Can anyone tell me the model of that Ryobi right angle driver he is using at 5:55? Or recommend a similar one that has a small profile like that? I desperately need a good right angle driver and the ones that are sold at most places are still too bulky because of the keyless chucks they put on them (including the right angle driver Ryobi currently sells on their website).

  7. Imagine waking up in the morning and realising that you’re Marty from Mighty car mods. Dudes are crushing it. I love everything you do.

  8. “Hard up against the firewall”. That literally floated out. Try taking a K04 out via the top of a TFSI engine, or a Mk2 Focus ST/RS turbo out!

  9. Wim Vander Schelden

0:55 “Come with me on this adventure of MR2 – Don’t buy one”

I bought one as my first project car a few weeks back, found tons of hidden problems already :'(

  10. You can remove the side panels on top of the engine bay for a bit more room
