The Mandalorian Pitch Meeting

Step inside the pitch meeting that led to The Mandalorian!

Disney has been going all-in with their streaming series as a way to truly flesh out (and milk) the colossal properties in their library. The Mandalorian was the very first giant streaming hit for Disney Plus and is currently paving the way for a TON of other Star Wars initiatives, as well as serving as a launching pad for some of them.

The Mandalorian certainly raises several questions though. Like how many side quests is Mando striving to complete? Is anything a serious threat when his armor makes him virtually invincible? Why did Moff Gideon kill his own men and give up his advantage? Why do the bad guys have a sensitive info terminal that lets you use it if you just have a face? Is everything about the Skywalkers, in the end?

To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to The Mandalorian! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

  1. Hey, shut up I know I have said this in the past, but this is the freaking best pitch meeting I have seen!! So many great jokes, the most recent catch phrase, and It even had a minimovie about Producer Guy, with hero journey and all!

    • This was great but the Godzilla: King of the Monsters pitch meeting is still my favorite. It had:

      – “And he’s pretty funny too. At a certain point someone’s like, ‘Oh my god.’ And he’s like, ‘Zilla…’ “God-zilla… That’s the name of the monster!”

      – “Murder and kidnapping are both illegal.”

      – “Volcanoes are hot sometimes.”

      – “Oh secret monster holes are tight!”

      – “I don’t know anybody named HR. Is that your son?” “…Yes.”

      – “So then Emma kind of realizes that her plan to kill millions of people is actually going to get millions of people killed!”

      – “But she’s responsible for an insane amount of death and destruction in this whole entire thing. I’m not sure this is super redeeming.” “Right. Well, it’s going to happen anyways so I’m gonna need you to *get all the way off my back about it.*

      – “I actually just had an idea for the title!” “Oh yeah?” “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Godzilla: The Big ol’ Lizard- That’s not good. I’ll figure something else out.”

    • For me the best still pitchmeeting 100th anniversary

“With ArmS wide Open, that’s my creed” LOL

I love the way this went off on a tangent! Totally unexpected!

The length of time spent on Producer Guy’s existential crisis about his dollar sign eyes had me rolling! Amazing!

I imagine that this episode was something that wasn’t as easy to do on the Screen Rant channel. I hope that the transition to the Pitch Meeting channel means that you have more creative freedom and I’m glad to see you taking advantage of it! As a fan of your personal channel too, I was really glad to see the stylistic mix, and both parts of it were perfect, as usual!

    You have the best ideas.

Please make Thomas and the manic railroad pitch meeting please

  7. ・your non favorite person 👍・

Love the way he basically inserted his RyanGeorge-verse characters into a Pitch Meeting the same way Dave Filoni inserts characters from all his other shows into The Mandalorian.

  8. Jake Rittenhouse

Please do an invincible pitch meeting

One of my favorite movies growing up was “Logans Run”. No one is allowed to live over 30 years old and they live in bubble cities. A pitch meeting for that would be hysterical.
