The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power – SDCC Trailer

Find the fable that forged the rings. September 2 on Prime Video. #TheRingsOfPower

Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the first time the heroic legends of the legendary Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This superb drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an epoch wherein terrific powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to demolish, improbable heroes were tested, hope draped by the best of threads, and the best villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series goes after an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the most dark innards of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the irresistable island realm of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

“The Shadow that bred them can only mock, it cannot make: not real new things of its own. I don’t think it gave life to the orcs, it only ruined them and twisted them…” – J.R.R. Tolkien

  7. When warrior Galadriel described Sauron as “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy, there’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti” I felt a chill run down my spine I have never felt in my life !

  8. I’m confused about the trailer… so the cops knew that infernal affairs were setting them up?

  9. I absolutely LOVED the bit where Galadriel’s shouting about woman rights and Elrond goes “what are ye Tolkien about?” Love the humour in the show

  10. When Elrond asked where they were going and Galadriel did an epic kung fu spin kick to an orc sending it into a spire in the distance and said “To towers!”
