Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the first time the heroic legends of the legendary Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This superb drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an epoch whereby terrific powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to shatter, improbable heroes were tested, hope strung up by the best of threads, and the finest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series goes after an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the most dark insides of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the irresistable island realm of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

  1. Elrond: Put up your sword, Galadriel. It’s over.
Galadriel: NOTHING IS OVER! NOTHING! You just don’t turn it off! It wasn’t my war! You asked me, I didn’t ask you! And I did what I had to do to win! But somebody wouldn’t let us win! And I come back to Middle Earth and I see all those maggots at the seaport. Protesting me, spitting. Calling me Orc baby killer and all kinds of vile crap! Who are they to protest me, huh?! Who are they?! Unless they’ve been me and been there and know what the hell they’re yelling about!

  2. Like Amazon cares about all you neckbeard keyboard commandos sky screaming. I bet it’s going to get the largest viewership numbers of any Amazon Original show .

  3. Gandalf never had the making of a varsity athlete.

  4. So many crybabies. It sustains me.

  5. Treebeard asks his creator, Eru, “I want to be a real boy.” At that moment, Eru morbed Treebeard into Meteor Man (Matpat) who is a real boy. Truely a important moment in the Five Ages at ‘Tolkiens’ Universe.

  6. “without it what am I to be” YOU’RE LADY GALADRIEL DAMNIT! She’s a leader ffs not a warrior.

  7. I’ve read the trilogy 6 times, and the Silmarillion, and the Book of Lost Tales and…I am not going to watch this Days of Our Lives version of Tolkien. Maybe they could spend 100th of the money, make a good show, and then, I don’t know, pay Amazon workers better and maybe feed the poor?
