Short but vibrant opening rite kicks off Beijing Winter Olympics

The opening rite for the Beijing Winter Olympics ran for about 20 minutes before athletes began their parade into the Bird’s Nest stadium. The rite displayed performers with colorful LED lights and projected animations before the Olympic flame was transferred to the snowflake-shaped cauldron.
