The SDG Moment serves to place a yearly spotlight on the Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) and will be hosted at the start of the United Nation’s General Assembly’s High-Level Week. It occurs as the world experiences a profoundly uneven response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which risks constructing a two-tier recuperation with fundamental inferences for the improvement of the SDGs, particularly in developing nations.
Convened by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the Moment will provide world
leaders with a platform to showcase the bold plans, deeds and solutions that are needed to conclude the COVID-19 pandemic and set the world on course in the direction of accomplishing the SDGs. Held upfront of major meetings on food systems, weather, energy, jobs and social protection, the SDG Moment event is considered likely to build the momentum needed to deliver on the Decade of Action and Keep the Promise of the SDGs.
